This mug features a hand-carved portrait of a warm, watchful dog—loyal, affectionate, and always present. The soft blush-pink glaze band adds a gentle touch of warmth, enhancing the clean black linework.
Wheel-thrown and hand-painted in my Irish studio, the Buddy Mug is tactile, comforting, and designed to become part of your daily rhythm. Like a trusted companion, it offers quiet reassurance and familiarity.
Recently I met a dog whose calm, knowing gaze felt like it could see the unspoken things. I tried to capture that steady, affectionate presence here. Each time I carve Buddy’s face, I’m reminded of that moment—and I hope it brings that same calm to your morning.
A Few Things to Hold in Mind
Care & Handling
These mugs are dishwasher safe, though hand washing is always gentler on handmade ceramics.
Microwave use is not recommended.
Each piece is glazed with a food-safe, non-toxic clear gloss.
To preserve the integrity of the clay and glaze, avoid sudden temperature changes (e.g. from fridge to boiling water). A little care goes a long way.

Studio Context
Each piece is made slowly, by hand, in small batches from a quiet studio in Virginia, Co. Cavan.
The aesthetic — Handcrafted Modern Play — leans on clean form and gentle character: calm expressions, earthy tones, and lines that feel alive rather than perfect.
Some batches feature several designs. Others, just one. It depends on the clay, the day, and whatever’s hanging around in my head.
